Running drills are an excellent way to learn and develop efficient movement patterns that can be hard to focus on while actively running. With practice, your body will adopt these movements naturally on a run. When doing drills, it's important not to "just go through the motions", but actually concentrate on the movements. Where is my foot landing? Which muscles am I using? Am I maintaining good posture? By forcing your mind to actively think about what you are doing, it will naturally help to translate these form improvements over to your running.
